The Miami Heat enjoyed a full turnout at Sunday’s practice at Kaseya Center, providing clarity ahead of the 2026–27 NBA Regular Season.
At the top of his third year in Miami, Swedish Pelle Larsson looks on track for the opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Kaseya Center on Wednesday. “That’s the plan right now,” confirmed the 25-year-old guard, who has battled an illness for nearly two weeks. “That’s how we’ve been setting it up.”
Other updates around offer additional optimism. Bam Adebayo missed the final two matchups in the Preseason 2026 due to right groin tightness. He expects to play Wednesday, joking that coaches had to save him from himself. Conversely, Dru Smith remains up in the air after missing the entire exhibition stretch with a right calf strain.
Limited to shooting just 3-for-20 from beyond the arc during the Preseason, Klay Thompson’s adjustment period appears concerning, despite his status as one of the best three-point shooters in league history. The 36-year-old sharpshooter joined the Heat over the summer to yield floor spacing for the offseason marquee trade acquisition, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“I feel really good about what he’s providing for us,” countered head coach Erik Spoelstra. “They’re going to defend him a certain way. And then the last couple games, I thought we’ve gotten him some really good looks.”
After starting the regular-season schedule opposite the Wolves, they will immediately face a back-to-back test, hosting the Detroit Pistons on Friday before traveling to play the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday.
