The San Antonio Spurs are ready for a new chapter. After fighting their way to the NBA Finals 2026, they open the 2026–27 Regular Season this Tuesday. They host the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Frost Bank Center. But before tipping off the 82-game calendar, a new video posted Monday reveals how this roster truly came together over the summer.
The squad traveled to France. Led by Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs spent days exploring Paris. The documentary captures them adapting to French culture, sharing meals, and touring landmarks like the Louvre. They also put in hard offseason work. France became the backdrop for their team chemistry.
The most powerful moment of the trip happens inside a quiet gym on the outskirts of Paris. This is where Wemby grew up. “I would say because it’s two of my worlds meeting in one place, in one moment,” he described after team practice on Monday, reflecting on the latest experience in his childhood facility. “I’m in the exact same gym where I was when I was 15, and with these guys that I met when I was 19. And a place where I lived intense emotions with people whom I lived intense emotions with as well. These two things meeting. It’s surreal at times. It is a great experience.”
For the towering center, France represents his roots and his earliest NBA dreams. Bringing his teammates into that space created a lasting bond.
The video above offers a rare look at these players outside the pressure of the league, displaying a brotherhood built on French soil.
