Luka Doncic confronted a courtside spectator who forcefully threw the ball toward referee Chelisa Painter during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116–103 win over the Sacramento Kings.
The incident occurred with 2:35 remaining in the third quarter, following a Kings turnover. Doncic challenged the fan before officials and arena staff intervened, with the spectator subsequently escorted out.
“He just tossed it really strong — the ball — toward the ref,” Doncic said afterward. “I just asked him what the hell he’s doing.”
Doncic finished with 40 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, hitting six three-pointers in his third consecutive 40-point performance. The Lakers improved to 7–2 with their third straight victory.
