Zach LaVine offered high praise for Luka Doncic after the Slovenian led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 116–103 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.
Doncic finished with 40 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, recovering from a slow shooting start to go 11-of-23 from the field. It was his fifth 40-point game of the season.
“Luka’s one of the most talented players of all time. I don’t think people actually give him enough credit for how good he really is. He’s one of the best scorers of all time,” LaVine said in his postgame press conference.
The Kings guard highlighted Doncic’s difficult shot-making and ability to dictate the rhythm of a possession, even against defensive pressure.
“The shot-making ability is insane. You really can’t contest him. He gets calls. But he plays at his own pace, he creates contact. The dude’s averaging 40 right now.”
Doncic is averaging 38.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8.0 assists this season, with the Lakers improving to 7–2 following the win in Sacramento.
