The Houston Rockets officially announced that they have renounced their rights to Donatas Motiejunas making him an unrestricted free agent.

Per the club’s official statement, this decision has been reached after “extensive discussions” with the player, his representatives and the NBA league office.

Rockets General Manager Daryl Morrey said, “Donatas was a true professional throughout his four seasons with the Rockets. We wish Donatas the best moving forward and want to thank him for his contributions both on the court and the community.”

The 26-year-old big guy had recently signed a four-year offer sheet with the Brooklyn Nets which was then matched by the Rockets. This ongoing saga reached an end with Houston’s decision to renounce all rights they had on the player, giving him an unrestricted free agent status.
