What is one of the reasons behind Dario Saric’s recent highly impressive performances? Apparently the presence of his mother, Veselinka Saric, near him.

“I want to say my mom helped me to be better,” Saric said, as reported by Philly.com. “She makes me be full, like 100 percent in my body and my soul, to feel like I’m at home.”

Saric’s productivity has definitely went uphill recently. During the last ten matches, he’s been averaging 20.2 points, 8 rebounds and 4.6 assists, while his season stats are 12.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

He’s been intensely showing more facets of his versatility and assuming a leadership role the floor, while his confidence is at the sky.

The Croatian forward actually dropped a 29 points career-high on Sunday, leading his team to a 118 – 166 victory over the Lakers in L.A. Once more, he contributed in all areas of the game, finishing with also 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Of course, the door to being more significant in the Sixers‘ game had been opened wide after Ersan Ilyasova was traded to the Atlanta Hawks. But you can’t doubt him when he attributes his mother’s influence as playing a part as well.

“Maybe she doesn’t know basketball like a coach or something like that,” he added. “She tells you something, like for example, ‘Slow down, you are rushing.’ Or [when] you play bad, she, of course, [says] something. She’s mom.”

Perhaps 76ers fans should make a petition for keeping mrs. Saric in Philadelphia… forever.
