Three-time EuroLeague champion Mike Batiste is to become an assistant coach in the Charlotte Hornets.

Mike Batiste will be hired by the Charlotte Hornets as assistant coach, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical.

Batiste, a player development coach in the Brooklyn Nets since 2016, had been one of the elite EuroLeague centers of the last 10 years, having won the competition thrice (2007, 2009 and 2011) with Panathinaikos.

He spent the majority of his career playing in Europe, also wearing the jerseys of Spirou Charleroi, Biella and Fenerbahce. In 2011 he was named in the All-EuroLeague First Team and was picked for the All-Euroleague Second team in 2012.
