To be exact Antetokounmpo (Greece), Gobert (France) and Jokic (Serbia) are the three candidates for the most improved player award, Gobert is also candidate for the defensive player of the year award and Dario Saric (Croatia) is a candidate for the rookie of the year award.

Dario’s teammate in the Sixers, Joel Embiid, and Bucks‘s Malcolm Brogdon are also finalists for the rookie of the year award, while Utah’s Gobert will have to compete with Spurs‘ Kawhi Leonard and Warriors‘ Draymond Green.

Giannis thanks to his season with the best can be considered the favorite for the most improved player award, since Jokic didn’t make the playoffs with Denver and Gobert was not the best player of his team in avery aspect, like it happened with Antetokounmpo.

Italian-American Mike D’Antony of the Rockets, Spurs‘ Gregg Popovich and Erik Spoelstra of the Heat are the coach of the year finalists, Andre Iguodala of the Warriors and also the Rockets duo of Eric Gordon and Lou Williams are the candidates for the sixth man of the year award and the trio of Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City), James Harden (Houston) and Kawhi Leonard (Spurs)  are the finalists for the MVP award.

The winners will be announced at the 26th of June in the first ever NBA awards show.
