Not only Giannis Antetokounmpo is the leading vote-getter in the first fan returns of NBA All-Star Voting 2018 but the comparison with his last year votes is surprising.

Antetokounmpo received 863.416 votes to edge LeBron James (856.080) by 7.336 votes for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and overall after the first 12 days of fan voting.

In last season first fans return, James had received 595.288 votes and Giannis 500.663. The trend in favor of Giannis is obvious and it is even more impressive if you take into account the votes received by Kyrie Irving. The count for the leader of Boston is currently at 802.834 votes with Giannis having a clear advantage over him, while last year Irving had 543.030 votes at this point, almost 43.000 more than Giannis.

Following the top of the Eastern Conference frontcourt are Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers (433.161) and Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks (359.459) and at the backcourt, DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors is second (259.368).

It’s a three-horse race for the top between Giannis, LeBron and Kyrie.
