The Magic will retain Birch beyond Sunday’s deadline, said the team’s president of basketball operations, Jeff Weltman, to the “Orlando Sentinel“.
In July, the Magic signed former Olympiacos big man to a two-year contract and with him staying with the team, his $815,615 salary for the current season became fully guaranteed. The rest remained non-guaranteed.
Birch has shuttled back and forth from the Magic to their G-League affiliate in Lakeland.
