“As basketball players, we’re really supposed to shut up and dribble, but I’m glad we do a little bit more than that”, said Kobe while receiving the award, taking a stand in the recent quarrel between LeBron James and FOX News. The legendary Lakers icon ended his speech by thanking his daughters in Italian.

“Dear Basketball” is a visualization of Kobe’s letter to the sport in which he announced his retirement. As executive producer, Bryant accepted his Oscar from “Star Wars” star Mark Hamill. He shared the award with Disney animator Glen Keane.
