Michigan earned its first Final Four berth since 2013 with a 58-54 victory over Florida State on Saturday night in the West Region final and their German big man was once again among the key players.

Moritz Wagner added 12 points as the Wolverines (32-7) earned their 13th consecutive victory by persevering through a defense-dominated second half and holding off a late charge from the Seminoles (23-12).

Charles Matthews scored 17 points and was the top scorer of the winners, however, the former Alba Berlin member proved once again that he is the leader of the team, making big plays when needed and stealing the show with his reactions.

Michigan will face Loyola Chicago in the Final Four semifinal, while Wagner is considered a possible candidate for the upcoming NBA draft. It was already known before the start of the tournament that Wagner was one of the marquee Europeans to watch.
