With the 2018 NBA draft out of the way, all eyes and ears are now focused on the upcoming free agency.

LeBron James remains the “hottest” topic around the league with his player option set to expire soon.

James must notify the Cavs by June 29th if he wishes to opt in to his one year deal and with Cleveland drafting point-guard Collin Sexton with the 8th overall pick, Cavs GM is somewhat optimistic about retaining LeBron.

“We continue to have good dialogue with his management team. I think LeBron has more than earned the right to approach his contracts the way he does. He’s done that before, so this is nothing new for us.”, he said.

“We want to respect his space during this process, and I continue to have really good dialogue with his management team as he goes through that process. That’s probably all I can say at this point regarding him, but we don’t take him for granted. We love him, this city loves him. He means the world to us and this franchise.”, he added.

The Lakers are rumored to be the favorite to land James but staying with his hometown team shall not be ruled out, especially if they can put around a significant supporting cast.
