Isaiah Hartenstein’s monster game propels Vipers

Houston Rockets assignee Isaiah Hartenstein showed his stuff in his second 2018-19 G League game.

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (8-6) scored a 96-95 win over the Santa Cruz Warriors (10-4) at the Kaiser Permamente Arena. Isaiah Hartenstein helped out with 22 points and 23 rebounds, also notched five assists, five blocks and one steal in 38 minutes. Alen Smailagic had 12 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal for the losing side.

Kostas Antetokounmpo finished up with nine points and 13 rebounds in 32 minutes for the Texas Legends (6-9). Red-hot Yante Maten scored 32 points leading the Sioux Falls Skyforce (11-3) to their 129-108 win against Giannis Antetokounmpo brother’s team.

Saturday night was special for Darel Poirier, as he sank a career-high nine points with 4/7 from the field, also had five rebounds, one assist, one block and a steal. However, the Capital City Go-Go (4-6) suffered a 110-102 home defeat to the Raptors 905 (12-3).

Gyorgy Goloman posted two points, one rebound, one assist and one steal in ten minutes. The Hungarian’s Westchester Knicks (12-4) lost to the Oklahoma City Blue (11-2), 107-102.

Belgian Retin Obasohan notched seven points, two assists, two rebounds and a steal in 21 minutes for the Northern Arizona Suns (3-13) that lost to the Stockton Kings (6-5), 90-84.

Greek Kanellos Garbis didn’t get any action in the Wisconsin Herd’s (2-12) 119-118 overtime victory over the Maine Red Claws (4-10). Also, the South Bay Lakers (8-8) overpowered the Erie BayHawks (6-6), 127-118.

In other action, the Canton Charge (7-6) beat the Windy City Bulls (5-11), 101-91, the Greensboro Swarm (6-8) scored a 121-115 victory over the Delaware Blue Coats (5-8) and the Memphis Hustle (8-6) got a 120-106 away win over the Austin Spurs (8-6).
