Isaiah Hartenstein dominates with second straight 20-20 game

G League players want to prove they deserve a spot on a NBA team’s roster, Isaiah Hartenstein is certainly making his case.

Houston Rockets assignee Isaiah Hartenstein went off for 29 points and 20 boards, also notched three assists, three blocks and two steals in 35 minutes helping the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (9-6) beat the Delaware Blue Coats (6-9), 104-97. The 20-year-old German has 24.3 points, 17.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 3.7 blocks and one steal per match in his three first 2018-19 G League appearances.

Phoenix Suns assignee Elie Okobo poured 22 points with 8/18 from the field for the Northern Arizona Suns (3-15) that suffered a 109-97 defeat to the Salt Lake City Stars (8-8). The French guard also posted five assists and four rebounds. His Belgian teammate Retin Obasohan notched nine points, six assists and three rebounds in 27 minutes.

Gyorgy Goloman scored nine points, added three rebounds, two assists and a steal to his tally as the Westchester Knicks (13-5) overpowered the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (6-7), 131-105. The Hungarian center brought his averages up to five points and 2.4 rebounds.

Manu Lecomte was also in action on Thursday and finished up with nine points, five assists and two rebounds for the Agua Caliente Clippers (8-7) in their 130-122 victory over the Erie BayHawks (7-7). The Belgian guard now has 10.3 points, 3.6 assists and 1.7 rebounds per 2018-19 game.

French Darel Poirier had seven points and five rebounds in the Capital City Go-Go (6-6) 107-106 away win over the South Bay Lakers (8-9). He’s now averaging 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in his first G League campaign.

In other action, the Iowa Wolves (5-10) beat the Stockton Kings (6-7), 100-94.
