San Antonio Spurs retired Manu Ginobili’s jersey in the midst of a packed arena in honor of the emblematic figure of the team. For sure, the best moment of the night was provided by Tim Duncan, who retold a hilarious story about the night Ginobili was drafted by Spurs.
Legendary Duncan said he never watched the NBA draft, and found out who the team picked from Popovich over the phone.
To Duncan, it seemed like a foreign language:

It might sound funny now, but back then, Ginobili was drafted as “Emmanuel Jinobili”.
