Hartenstein, Musa, Smailagic help teams advance in G League Playoffs

Midway through the G League Playoffs, a bunch of European players are still alive.

The Long Island Nets will face the Lakeland Magic and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers will go against the Santa Cruz Warriors in the single-elimination Conference Finals of the G League playoffs. The two winning sides of the April 2nd games will move forward to the best-of-three Finals. Europeans aided three out of the four final teams advance including themselves in Eurohoops’ Weekly Report on European action in NBA’s minor league.

Isaiah Hartenstein and Dzanan Musa put up the best performances. The Houston Rockets assignee notched 22 points, 15 rebounds and five assists for the Valley Vipers in their 135-118 quarterfinals win over the Memphis Hustle. The Brooklyn Nets assignee had 21 points, eight boards, three dimes, three steals and one block for the Nets in the 112-99 victory against the Raptors 905.

Alen Smailagic helped the Warriors go through with 12 points and one rebound in the 117-102 win against the Oklahoma City Blue that previously eliminated the Salt Lake City Stars holding Naz Mitrou-Long to nine points, ten helpers and two boards. Gyorgy Goloman was also in action with two points and two rebounds playing in one game before the Westchester Knicks were eliminated.
