Hartenstein and Musa to square off in G League finals

The G League playoffs are down to the best-of-three finals and Europeans are expected to be part of the action.

The G League playoffs semifinals saw the Rio Grande Valley Vipers defeat the Santa Cruz Warriors, 144-125, and the Long Island Nets beat the Lakeland Magic, 108-106, in overtime. The two winning sides will face each other in the best-of-three finals set to start on April 7th.

Houston Rockets’ assignee Isaiah Hartenstein notched a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double in semifinals action, tallied one assist, one block and one steal as well. Serb Alen Smailagic finished his season with 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block for the losing side.

Hartenstein, 20, will go against Dzanan Musa in the finals provided the two Europeans remain with their NBA’s team affiliate. The 19-year-old forward contributed with 17 points, one rebound and one dime to the Nets’ overtime victory against the Magic.
