Zalgiris Kaunas head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius talked about the interest that the Memphis Grizzlies have shown in potentially hiring him as their new head coach and the talks between him and the NBA club.

“They [Memphis Grizzlies] still don’t have a coach. We can talk a lot, but as I understand, now it’s the process of information gathering. I don’t know if it will get more serious. But I don’t want to go deeper on rumors about me and my players,” Jasikevicius said per Donatas Urbonas. Saras and Zalgiris had just won the ninth consecutive LKL title after sweeping Lietuvos Rytas in the Finals.

Jasikevicius hinted that he will stay with Zalgiris in the next season unless an “incredible” opportunity arrives. “Now I can’t say anything. It’s so great in Kaunas, that some very incredible situation must come, that I would change it. Now I feel very good in Zalgiris. I don’t need to chase anything, because Zalgiris is a top organization.”
