Reigning NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard is “seriously considering” signing with the L.A. Lakers according to Stephen A. Smith.
“I have received word that Kawhi Leonard is seriously considering the L.A. Lakers,” Smith said during the “Get Up” show of ESPN.

After declining his 21.3 million option on his 2019-2020 contract with the Toronto Raptors, Leonard will be one of the most coveted players on the market once the free agency race begins on July 1st. The Lakers, that want to sign another superstar after acquiring Anthony Davis, will be able to offer the two-time NBA champion Finals MVP the max contract he wants.
The L.A. Clippers and the New York Knicks have also been reported to be targeting Leonard.
