Milan Momcilovic, a former Iowa State Cyclones student, will continue his career with the Kentucky Wildcats, he announced on social media.
During one year at Kentucky, Momcilovic will earn around $6 million, making him one of college basketball’s three or four highest paid players next season.
The American of Serbian descent completed his third NCAA season at Iowa State, entered the transfer portal, and eventually, Kentucky managed to bring him into their ranks.
In doing so, the Wildcats won the battle for Momcilovic’s signature against St. John’s, Arizona, and Louisville. The Cardinals are among Kentucky’s biggest rivals, so Momcilovic’s arrival will mean even more to the university’s fans.
In the past season, he averaged 16.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and shot 48.7% from 3-point range last season. Momcilovic was the second most accurate 3-point shooter in NCAA, and he also earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors.
