Gregg Popovich has completed his contract with Team USA with the gold medal in the 2021 Olympic Games. With Pop’s tenure over, USA Basketball will be looking for his successor and the one who will coach the national team in the major upcoming tournaments, starting from the 2023 World Cup.

One of the candidates could be Steve Kerr, an assistant to Popovich at Team USA. The Golden State Warriors boss and three-time NBA champion as head coach said he would definitely be interested in taking over the national team and leading the squad in the 2024 Olympic Games of Paris.

Per The Athletic:

“Would you be interested in being the head coach in Paris in three years? Steve Kerr: Of course I’d be interested. I mean, who wouldn’t be? I’ll leave it at that. I have no idea how it will all transpire; there are a lot of great candidates out there. And if I were to be considered, that would be an honor.”
