Playing without Alex Abrines who is in the USA for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Spain got an easy win over Venezuela (80-65) in its third preparation game before the Rio Olympic Games.

Pau Gasol (14 p.) and Felipe Reyes (18 p.) who felt right at home in Madrid led the charge against the South American champions. After two defeats by Lithuania this result was quite the moral boost, even if the European champs are not yet running at full throttle. Rudy Fernandez added 12 points for the winners, new Sixers point guard Sergio Rodriguez dished 5 assists, while Venezuela without the Nets‘ Greivis Vasquez proved to be an easy prey.
