FC Barcelona beat Panathinaikos at OAKA last week at Game 9 of Euroleague’s Top16 and has gained a step in the race for the home court advantage at playoffs. Alex Abrines was one of the key factors in Barcelona’ s win. Unfortunately some days after, he had a knee injury at the Canary Islands in the Liga Endesa game and he will stay out of action for two weeks. Before that, the young Spaniard spoke to Eurohoops.net about Barcelona’s ambitions and his friend Kostas Papanikolaou.

Which are your ambitions at Liga Endesa this year?

“It’ a tough season. We had lots of injuries and some ups and downs. Patience will be the secret. Our goal is to prepare very well for each game. To win every game and keep waiting for Malaga’s and Real’s losses”.

Which are your thoughts about Kostas Papanikolaou’ big step to NBA?

“I think Kostas made the best choice. I miss him. He was an amazing player. He is a very good player in a very good team. He can prove lots of things from now on in the NBA and he is lucky because Houston Rockets have a lot of chances for something big at playoffs. I wish him the best and I send him kisses”.
