Amar’e Stoudemire isn’t happy with the Israeli League’s protocol for the resumption of the season

The Israeli League is one of the three major basketball leagues (Spain, Germany) which will try to complete the season and it’s set to tip off on June 20.

However, while the plans have been made, a lot of players aren’t happy with it and some refused to return to Israel for their teams, forcing them to search for replacements as was the case with Hapoel Holon.

Additionally, even among the players that have been in Israel during the pandemic and followed the guidelines, there is still concern or dissatisfaction with the Winner League’s protocols. Former NBA and current Maccabi Tel Aviv center Amar’e Stoudemire is one of them, as he expressed his opinion via Instagram:

“Just got the word that the Winner League is asking all players to stay home for two months while everyone else (staff, and the entire country) can enjoy the beautiful summer of Israel. I’m a single parent who has to take care of my son (food, school, afterschool activities). There’s no chance I’m staying home for two months. I was here in Israel for the entire quarantine (COVID -19). I follow every rule. Now we players are getting punished for that. Sorry. I can’t do it,” he wrote.
