Sports and basketball should be about representation and inclusion, and that’s exactly what happened in the case of “Sióga”.

A documentary made by “BallinEurope” and Emmet Ryan focuses on the story of Dublin’s first LGBTQ+ basketball club, Shamrock Sióga, which was created to make a splash on the European stage and did exactly that.

As the press release explains: “This documentary follows the club across its formative journey on the road to Lyon and gets up close and personal with the people involved in the club to show the human side of the sport”.

“Sióga” is the Irish word for fairies, and here’s their fairytale-like story.
