The remainder of the Israeli league will be played in Belgrade according to a report by Meridian Sports.
The Israeli domestic championship will conclude its final stages in the Serbian capital, as scenario that the league itself has officially denied, at least for the moment.
With Belgrade being the home of Maccabi Tel Aviv for the past two seasons due to the situation in the Middle East, the city is the favorite to host the final stage of the tournament.
After the competition was officially suspended on Round 18, the league, where Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv occupy the top of the table, could end in Belgrade. As Meridian Sports reports, it is expected to be decided in a sort of “bubble”.
Hapoel Tel Aviv is the league leader with a record of 17-2, two games ahead of Maccabi Tel Aviv, who have only lost one game (16-1).
