Strong performance from the home team to start the series on a high note

Dominant from start to finish, Žalgiris Kaunas opened the Lithuanian League Finals in emphatic fashion, defeating Juventus Utena 107-75 to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

After sweeping Lietkabelis 3-0 in the semifinals, the team coached by Tomas Masiulis appears determined to continue its dominant run and capture the Lithuanian championship title for the 37th time in club history.

The standout performers for Zalgiris, in addition to leading scorer Ąžuolas Tubelis (19 points, 4 rebounds), were Moses Wright (17 points, 4 rebounds), Sylvain Francisco (16 points, 6 assists) and Nigel Williams-Goss (13 points).

For Juventus Utena, Lewis finished with 18 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Mindaugas Valinskas added 13 points and 2 assists.

Zalgiris had little trouble securing the opening game of the Lithuanian Finals, cruising to a 107-75 victory behind familiar leaders and taking a commanding 1-0 series advantage.
