Gilboa Galil forced Maccabi Tel Aviv to its fourth defeat in the last seven games of the Israeli League regular season by grabbing an 81 – 79 road win in “Menora Mivtachim” arena.
Zach LeDay made short work of his opponents’ defenses with 24 points and 11 rebounds for a game-high 29 PIR. J’ Covan Brown scored 16 and dished out seven assists while Joaquin Szuchman came close to the triple-double with eight points, 10 points and seven assists.
Maccabi, that played without Pierre Jackson, needed more than the 20 points plus six rebounds by DeShaun Thomas and the 17 points/seven assists courtesy of Michael Roll.
Despite this result, Maccabi are still the standings leader with 17 – 7 but also one game more than second Hapoel Holon (17-6). Gilboa Galil improved to 12 – 2 and climbed to the sixth spot.
