Zalgiris Kaunas won the Lithuanian League Finals and thus the LKL title. Kaunas’ team won the LKL Finals in five games (4-1) against Lietuvos Rytas.
Jonas Valanciunas was in Kaunas, Lithuania to watch Game 5 of the LKL Finals and after the final buzzer, he congratulated Sarunas Jasikevicius and Zalgiris for their eighth straight championship, despite being a former Rytas player.
Valanciunas and Jasikevicius could have joined forces in Toronto this upcoming season, as Zalgiris’ coach had been interviewed by Masai Ujiri of the Raptors for the head coaching job.
