The Serbian league rejected the appeal of Partizan Belgrade regarding an alleged traveling violation committed by Crvena Zvezda guard Billy Baron before his game-winning basket in the decisive Finals Game 4 victory.

While the League officially registered the result that gave Crvena Zvezda the championship title, it was acknowledged that the referees made a mistake in their decision to not call Baron with traveling.

“The non-call on traveling in the last second of the fourth Final affected the result. By then, the refereeing was very good for 39 minutes and 59 seconds,” says the Serbian League’s announcement, that includes the opinion of KLS Sports Director, per Basketball Sphere.

The announcement also mentions the official FIBA rule according to which, a refereeing mistake cannot be the reason for annulling a game result.

That being said, the referees Belosevic, Obrknezevic, and Nikolic have been punished with a sanction of three games which will be transferred to the 2019-2020 season.

Partizan was sanctioned with 102,000 dinars (around 860 euros) for firecrackers and items that were thrown on the court. Partizan captain Novica Velickovic and Crvena Zvezda forward Mouhammad Faye were fined with 12,000 dinars apiece for technical fouls.
