ASVEL Villeurbanne beat DJA Dijon 77 – 61 in the 2021 French Cup Final to claim the title for second straight season and 11th overall in the history of the club.
Thomas Heurtel scored a game-high 11 points and dished out six assists while Moustapha Fall finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and six blocks to win MVP. Guerschon Yabusele (10 points, six rebounds) and Charles Kahudi (10 points) completed the winning equation for ASVEL.
Axel Julien (16 points) and David Holston (14 points) stood out from Dijon. Jean Louis Borg’s team managed to recover from a double-digit deficit to approach 43 – 41 in the second half but ASVEL responded with a 7 – 0 run to once again establish a lead and, this time, hold it for good.
