JDA Dijon completed the regular season in the French League at the top of the standings for the first time in the history of the club. Laurent Legnam’s team beat Le Portel 73 – 57 and for Round 22 mathematically clinched the coveted first place for the 2020-21 Jeep Elite.
Robin Ducote had 19 points and Hans Vanwijn scored 12 for Dijon that forced its opponents to score just 24 points in the second half. Johan Passave-Ducteil was Le Portel’s top contributor with 13 points and 10 rebounds but also eight turnovers.
Earlier, ASVEL Villeurbanne defeated Roanne 89 – 75 on the road behind 20 points by Amine Noua. Thomas Heurtel added 15 points plus seven assists and Moustapha Fall finished with 14 points and five boards.
