ASVEL’s defense made short work of Dijon in Game 3.

ASVEL Villeurbanne defeated JDA Dijon 61 – 73 in Game 3 of the French Jeep Elite semifinals to make the sweep and become the first team to advance to the championship series. The reigning champions will face either AS Monaco or Pau Orthez for the title.

In mostly a defense-dominant game, ASVEL was up 39 – 64 in the end of the third quarter and won easier than what the final score shows. Elie Okobo led the winning side with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists, David Lighty scored 11 points and got five boards while Chirs Jones dropped 11 points as well.

Rashard Kelly had a game-high 20 points along with five assists for Dijon that fell behind 29 – 49 at halftime and didn’t manage to return to the game. ASVEL held on to a big lead and remained safe until the final buzzer.
