French reigning champions and EuroLeague participant LDLC ASVEL continues to struggle in their domestic league but this time the story of the game was Victor Wembanyama.

After three straight wins, ASVEL lost to Boulogne-Levallois 84-83 for Round 16 of the French Betclic Elite with Wembanyama winning the game with a dunk against his former team.

ASVEL had a seven-point lead late in the fourth quarter, but they blew it. In the last seconds, the defending champions were up by one (83-82), but Wembanyama was at the right place at the right time. His putback dunk was the game-winning bucket.

Wembanyama had an off-night by his standards before the dunk. He had 15 points and nine rebounds in 30 minutes of action, but he only hit four of 12 shots from the floor. Tremont Waters led the way for Boulogne-Levallois with 28 points.  Yves Ponsscored 16 points for ASVEL.

Thanks to this result, Bologna-Levallois and Cholet are tied in the second spot of the league standings with a 12-4 record.

Monaco is all alone on the top with 13-3 after beating Orthez, while ASVEL dropped to 9-7 and a four-way tie in the 5th spot behind Dijon (11-5).
