The latest brilliant outing for French prodigy and lock for the top spot in the 2023 NBA draft, Victor Wembanyama drew up plenty of highlights and also powered Metropolitans 92 to the win, 93-80, against Cholet in Game 1 of the best-of-three series of the Betclic Elite LNB Pro A Playoffs.

Wembanyama, 19, is heading to the San Antonio Spurs after the Texas franchise secured the first pick of the approaching draft. In his first appearance since the NBA draft lottery, he posted a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double to go with six assists, two steals, and two blocks.

The promising upstart made 10/19 field goals lasting nearly 32 minutes.

A dominating performance fueling Vincent Collet’s side to a 1-0 lead in the Quarterfinals series of France’s top-flight division. Switching from Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan to Cholet’s La Meilleraie, Game 2 will be held Tuesday.

ASVEL and Dijon are up 1-0, and Monaco coming up

Jonah Mathews and Dee Bost chipped in 16 points apiece. Stuck to the injury list and focused on recovering from a torn ACL in his right knee, Joffrey Lauvergne remains the lone unavailable player for head coach T.J. Parker.

Jumping in a 1-0 lead on the road, JL Bourg stunned JDA Dijon, 79-73, behind a 22-8 run across the fourth period. Leading the way in Palais des Sports de Dijon, Jordan Floyd poured 28 points.
