The National Directorate of Consulting and Management Control of Professional Clubs (DNCCGCP) presented the budgets and payrolls of all 18 Betclic ELITE clubs for this 2023-2024 season, with Monaco at the top holding a new record budget of 27.5 million euros, surpassing its 20.7 million euros record from the previous season.
The payroll of the squad is also the highest in the history of the French championship, with 13.1 million euros.
The other EuroLeague team of the French championship, LDLC ASVEL, follows the reigning champs in second place with a budget of 21 million euros, and a payroll of 7.2 million euros.
Paris Basketball also lifted the bar with a budget of 9.250.000 euros, compared to 6.500.000 from the previous season. The BKT EuroCup team has a reported payroll of 2.85 million euros for the 2023/24 season. Only JL Bourg (2.18 million) and JDA Dijon (2.05 million) have a payroll of more than 2 million euros.
Three clubs have reduced the size compared to last year: Metropolitans 92 went from 7.3 to 5.6 million euros budget, Limoges went from 6.5 to 6.1 million euros and SIG Strasbourg decreased its budget from 6.96 to 6.88 million euros.
Overall, the average budget of Betclic ELITE increased and set a new record of 7.9 million euros.
