AS Monaco beat Le Mans 76 – 69 in Game 1 of the French League quarterfinals behind a dominant (26-15) fourth-quarter performance.
The Monegasque side was the first EuroLeague Final Four team to play in its domestic league after the tournament.
Three days after their loss to Fenerbahce Beko in the EuroLeague championship game and without superstar Mike James, Monaco faced some problems against Le Mans for 30 minutes, trailing 50 – 54 at the end of the fourth quarter.
Matthew Strazel led the charge for Monaco with 10 out of his 17 points in the final period as his team overcame Le Mans to get the win.
Jordan Loyd added 13 points plus six rebounds for Monac,o while Daniel Theis posted 12 points plus eight rebounds.
Trevor Hudgins (13 points) and Wilfried Yeguete (12 points, nine rebounds) stood out from Le Mans.
