Trevor Hudgins went 1-2 from the line in the very last second and that was enough to give Le Mans a 88 – 87 win over AS Monaco in the best-of-three French League quarterfinals.
Jaron Blossongame had put Monaco up 85 – 86 with 3:15 remaining and Mam Jaiteh made it 85 – 87 with a free throw, 2:47 before the end of the fourth quarter.
Leopold Delaunay, who led Le Mans with 17 points and 10 assists, tied the score and the two teams went scoreless for the last two minutes until Hudgins’ decisive free throw.
Wilfried Yeguete provided 14 points, nine rebounds and six assiss to Le Mans. Hudgins also scored 14.
Daniel Theis (16 points), Elie Okobo (15 points) and Jordan Loyd (14 points) were Monaco’s top contributors. The Monegasque side is still without superstar guard Mike James for resting reasons.
