T.J. Parker signed a contract with Chorale Roanne until the end of the 2026-27 season.

Confirming recent rumors, which recently combined with the departure of the 41-year-old tactician from FC Bayern Munich, the team announced the new head coach on Sunday.

Moving back to a head-coaching role and officially taking over the French club on Monday, Parker will reunite with Morgan Belnou, his former assistant at LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne.

Tony Parker’s brother has been an assistant coach under Gordon Herbert at Bayern since last season. He was released from his contract on Thursday en route to Elite 2, the second-tier division of France. Following his playing days, which were cut short due to a knee injury in 2010, he worked at ASVEL from 2013 to 2023, including a spell as the interim head coach in 2018 and resurfacing as the head coach over the last three years. As the play-caller, his efforts resulted in two domestic league championships, a Jeep Elite title in 2021 and a Betclic Elite title in 2022, the Coupe de France in 2021, and the Leaders Cup in 2023.

His new side, a two-time league champion in 1959 and 2007, is currently tied for third on the Elite 2 standings, behind an 8-4 record, two games away from leader Orleans Loiret.

Since being crowned French champion for the second time, the team was reduced to Pro B between 2014 and 2019, returned to the top-tier division, and was relegated once more at the end of the 2023-24 season.
