Nancy beats Monaco in the Salle Gaston Médecin (86-94). The Euroleague team couldn’t complete the comeback in time and got its third loss in the French competition.
Daniel Theis (20 p.) and Nemanja Nedovic (20 p.) were the top scorers for the local team. Juhann Begarin added 14. Mike James, Nikola Mirotic, Elie Okobo, and Matthew Strazel did not play for Markoishvili’s team.
24 points for Stéphane Gombauld in the victory. Landers Nolley scored 22 for Nancy.
Monaco didn’t have an easy first half. Nancy fought back in the second quarter, attacking the rim to complete the comeback before the break (37-50) with a 12-31 run.
The Euroleague team, no longer with Spanoulis on the bench, couldn’t react in the third quarter (65-73). They fought until the end but couldn’t get the win in front of their crowd (86-94). Third loss in the French competition, but they stay on top.
