Following the conclusion of the Betclic Elite Regular Season and with the Playoffs taking over to conclude the 2025-26 schedule, AS Monaco’s Elie Okobo was officially named the Most Valuable Player on Friday to conclude a week of award announcements.
The 28-year-old guard secured the prestigious honor ahead of fellow finalists Nadir Hifi of Paris and Mathis Dossou-Yovo of Nanterre 92, winning a combined vote split evenly between players and journalists as definitive proof of his undeniable impact. Unsurprisingly, all three MVP finalists previously headlined the First Team alongside Gerald Ayayi of Cholet and Landers Nolley II of SLUC Nancy. The Second Team featured Marcus Keene, Trevor Hudgins, Adam Mokoka, Nelly Joseph, and Alpha Diallo.
In the individual voting categories, Monaco’s Diallo achieved a historic double crown by being named the Best Defender for both the Betclic Elite and the EuroLeague. Furthermore, 24-year-old Ayayi captured the Most Improved Player award following an excellent, highly versatile season, with the future of French basketball was also celebrated as 17-year-old rising prodigy Hugo Yimga-Moukouri of Nanterre was named the Best Young Player. Also, Nanterre’s Julien Mahe was elected Coach of the Year as the best play-caller of the season.
Before the voting panels convened, three standout performers had already locked up the league’s purely data-driven statistical honors. Hifi secured the Stephane Ostrowski Trophy as the top scorer, Keene claimed the Laurent Sciarra Trophy as the best passer, while his SIG Strasbourg teammate Joseph was awarded the Thierry Rupert Trophy as the league’s most dominant rebounder.
