Confirming recent rumors, veteran guard Patrick Beverley is extending his extensive international journey after officially agreeing to sign with Boulazac for the upcoming 2026–27 season.
The 38-year-old defensive specialist, widely recognized for lasting 12 years in the NBA, announced his decision to join the French club on social media on Thursday. The team formally announced the deal Friday morning. This transition marks the 19th professional campaign of a globetrotting career that originally began long before his rise to prominence in North America.
Beverley’s path to stardom was defined by relentless resilience and an unorthodox journey. After overcoming a grueling childhood on Chicago’s West Side, he went undrafted and was forced to prove himself overseas, playing in Ukraine, Greece, and Russia. He finally broke into the NBA with the Houston Rockets in 2013, where his legendary full-court pressure and agonizing grit quickly solidified his status as an indispensable asset. Over more than a decade in the league, he secured three prestigious All-Defensive Team honors while fueling postseason runs for the Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Milwaukee Bucks.

Before committing to his new chapter, he spent the preceding portion of his career competing in Europe after concluding his latest run in the United States. He recently wrapped up a productive stint in Greece, playing for PAOK in both the FIBA Europe Cup and the Stoiximan GBL. Despite his veteran status, he proved his enduring value on the court as a premier backcourt anchor. His addition to the Boulazac roster is expected to bring a level of battle-tested leadership and perimeter intensity that few European clubs can match.
