In the most advertised game of Pro A Gameday 1, ASVEL recovered from an 11-18 first-quarter deficit to beat Limoges thanks to a 3-pointer by John Roberson with seven seconds remaining (video below).

The premiere of the new season also included two upsets as Pau-Orthez routed reigning champions Chalon/Saone and Antibes crushed last season’s finalists Strasbourg.  Blue Tim of Antibes had an excellent performance with 29 points and 10 rebounds for Antibes.

Le Portel starts off the season on the right foot with a win over Cholet, while at the same time, Le Mans showcased their offense (six players in double-figures) against Gravelines-Dunkerque as they scored 103 points and got the win. Nanterre also got its first win of the season, as did Monaco that prevailed over a still Boris Diaw-less Levallois on the road.
