Strasbourg wins thriller, qualifies to semifinals

Strasbourg has qualified to the semifinals with a tough win over Nanterre, while Le Mans forced a Game 3 against ASVEL.

In the French League quarterfinals, in a tough game down the stretch, Strasbourg got past Nanterre with a 70-77 victory, won the series 2-0 and qualified to the ProA semifinals.

With an 18-10 third period, Nanterre built a five-point lead heading into the fourth, but Strasbourg had the lead with two minutes on the clock (68-69). In the final 1:50, the visitors went on a 2-8 run to finish off the series. Bost with 16 points and Logan with 17 points led the way for the winners, while Kevin Jones for Nanterre finished with a double-double (14 points / 10 rebounds).

Earlier on Friday, Le Mans won a 67-72 thriller in Lyon, defeated ASVEL in Game 2 and tied the series 1-1.

The game was decided in the final minutes, as Justin Cobbs and Youssoupha Fall came up big for the visitors. ASVEL had a one-point lead (67-66) with two minutes on the clock, but the visitors went on a 0-6 run and came out on top.

Cobbs scored 13 points for the winners, Fall added 16 and eight rebounds, but Chris Lofton led the way with 20 points. For the losing side, four players finished in double-figures.
