Almost every European league has suspended or canceled its 2019-20 campaign, in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Turkey’s Super Ligi remains among the few exceptions. However, building up to the contest and the increasing voices against BSL games still being played, the Galatasaray Doga Sigorta players issued a joint statement on Friday. Aaron Harison and Tai Webster ultimately opted to sit out on Saturday with their side at home versus Pinar Karsiyaka.

With two key members of the opposing squad sidelined, Karsiyaka secured the 79-74 win behind closed doors. The team coached by Ufuk Sarica became the first to reach twenty wins upping its tally to 20-3. D.J. Kennedy sporting 16-point, 13-rebound double-double, and Jordan Morgan adding 16 more points were the top performers. As for the hosts that fell to 16-7 after four straight wins, Yigit Arslan punched in a game-high 22 points.

All eight BSL Regular Season Round 23 matches are scheduled to be held this weekend without fans. Action tipped off earlier with Gaziantep beating Teksut Bandirma, 73-63. Ivan Buva with 23 points and captain Can Ugur Ogut with a 13-point, 10-assist double-double led the way for the hosts that improved to 9-14 dropping their opponents to 12-11.
