After an eventful semifinal against Galatasaray which was interrupted for an hour, Fenerbahce advanced to the Turkish Cup final

The first semifinal of the Turkish Cup between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray was rather eventful as it got interrupted in the second half due to fan altercations on the court, though Fenerbahce managed to keep its composure and grab a 64-49 victory to advance to the final.

With Fenerbahce up by 46-37 in the third quarter, fans of both teams got involved in a quarrel, forcing the game to be stopped. After nearly an hour, both teams returned to the court and the rest of the game was played with no fans in attendance.

Marko Guduric paced Fenerbahce to this victory with 20 points and 5 rebounds, Devin Booker followed with 15 points and 5 rebounds, Pierria Henry tapped 12 points and Melih Mahmutoglu added 11 points.

Melo Trimble led the way for Galatasaray with 19 points, Kerry Blackshear posted 17 points and 6 rebounds and DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell scored 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Later on Friday, Anadolu Efes made short work of Darussafaka, and with a 96-71 victory they are now paired up with Fenerbahce for the Cup final Sunday.

Elijah Bryant scored 26 points along with 6 rebounds for Ergin Ataman’s squad, Shane Larkin added 16 points, Vasilije Micic contributed 13 points and 5 assists and Bugrahan Tuncer followed with 11 points and 4 assists.

Efes got ahead with a 54-32 lead at halftime and never looked back since and will move to the final with hopes to reclaim the cup for the first time since 2018.

Darussafaka’s Isaiah Pineiro led the team with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Gabriel Olaseni added 8 points and 5 rebounds.
