Nigel Hayes-Davis was on fire for Fenerbahce with his highest-scoring performance in Europe.

Nigel Hayes-Davis scored 30 points on 9-11 shots and grabbed nine rebounds as Fenerbahce Beko beat Besiktas 95 – 80 in a game for Round 21 of the Turkish League regular season. These 30 points tie for the most that Hayes-Davis has scored during the European run of his career.

Carsen Edwards contributed 14 points to help Fener get the victory in this Istanbul classic. Jordan Usher had 20 points plus six rebounds for Besiktas while Allerik Freeman scored 15 points.

Fener led from almost start to finish. The hosts closed halftime up 46 – 38 behind a phenomenal output by Hayes-Davis who had 23 of his points at the break. Even when the American forward slowed down a bit in the second half, Besiktas couldn’t find enough answers against their opponents.

With the score 72 – 66 in the beginning of the fourth period, Fener had a strong push to take a 85 – 70 lead and retained a comfortable margin for the rest of the game. Thanks to this victory, the reigning champs remain first in the standings at 21-18. Besiktas, now 6-15, is tied with Konyaspor in the last plae.

Fenerbahce played Saturday ahead a postponed EuroLeague game vs. Olimpia Milano at home Tuesday (21/3).
