Turk Telekom grabs the lead in the BSL semifinals with a win over Pinar Karsiyaka in a high-scoring game behind an excellent performance from the MVP, Tyrique Jones

Turk Telekom hosted Pınar Karşıyaka at the Ankara Sports Hall in the first match of the Turkish Basketball Super Lig semifinals and won 98-94 behind a great game from Tyrique Jones.

The MVP of the regular season had a career-high 25 points and grabbed four rebounds to lead his team to a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-five series. The second match will be played on Tuesday, June 6, once again, hosted by Turk Telekom.

Jerian Grant followed him with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Axel Bouteille added 17. Tony Tayor also finished in double figures with 13 and Nate Sestina with 10 points.

For Karsiyaka, Brian Angola was the top scorer with 22 points and five assists, Angelo Delgado was a rebound shy of a double-double with 15 points, and Vitto Brown added 14. At the same time, Kenan Sipahi had 12, and Erick McCollum had 10 points.

It was an even fight until the last moments, but the hosts managed to grab a 96-91 lead in the last minute, which proved enough for a win.

Previously, Fenerbahce had a record-breaking victory over Anadolu Efes for a 1-0 lead in the semifinal series.
