Only a few days after celebrating the title victory in Abu Dhabi as Fenerbahce lifted the EuroLeague trophy at the end of a tough Final Four, a serious injury could have happened to the team.
During Game 1 of the BSL Quarter-Finals against Turk Telekom, which is currently ongoing with the hosts dominating the encounter, Tarik Biberovic had to be carried out of the court to the locker rooms by his teammates following a potential severe knee injury.
Midway through the second quarter, he banged knees with Khem Birch during a penetration to the basket from Olivier Hanlan. He stayed on the floor suffering, and couldn’t put weight on his leg.

He was rumored to make a move to the NBA, as his rights belong to the Memphis Grizzlies; this season, Tarik Biberovic averaged 10.4 points in the EuroLeague, turning into a shooting weapon for Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team.
Still without the contribution of the Turkish sharpshooter, Fenerbahce managed to get the 1-0 lead in the Quarter-Finals against the EuroCup participants, winning 89-68 over Turk Telekom.
Wade Baldwin (14 points and 4 assists) and Nicolò Melli (10 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists) were among the main protagonists for the yellow-and-blue team; Braian Angola had a 20-point losing effort.
